Coast 101.1 Break the Bank 2011
Rules & Regulations

Eligibility

Contest is open to individuals that hold permanent residence in the province of Newfoundland And Labrador and are within the terrestrial broadcast contour of CKSJ-FM at 101.1 MHz.

Those ineligible are:

  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd. employees, persons that reside in the same household as Coast Broadcasting Ltd. employees, and immediate family members of Coast Broadcasting Ltd. employees.
  • Coast Payroll sponsor employees, persons that reside in the same household as Coast Payroll sponsor employees, and immediate family members of Coast Payroll sponsor employees.
  • Individuals that reside outside of the CKSJ-FM terrestrial broadcast contour (ie. Those listening from a geographical distance through internet streaming).
  • Those having previously won a Coast Payroll prize during the contest period of August 30, 2010 and October 31, 2010.
  • Only one Coast Payroll win per person
  • Contest participants under the age of 18 may require to have a prize won awarded in the name of a legal guardian.

Contest Entry

Eligible participants qualify to play the Coast Payroll as follows:

  • Visiting online at www.coastpayroll.com and filling out the entry form that is sent via web submission
  • All information on the form must be filled out accurately for the entry to be eligible for a prize
  • Those without electronic means can drop off or mail in their name, address, postal code, and telephone number to the attention of Coast Payroll Entry.  A manual entry is accepted with the same validity as an electronic entry

  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd reserves the right to alter the qualification process during the contest period

Contest Participation

  • The Coast Payroll participant will participate in a live or taped to live contest play with a cash amount being awarded for eligible participation.  Contest plays occur at varying times once an hour between the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday.
  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd reserves the right to increase, or decrease contest plays during the contest period
  • An eligible contest participant is randomly selected from those that chose to enter for each contest play.  Said participant must listen for their name and general area of residence to be announced and then call Coast 101.1 at 754-1011 within a time period of 10 minutes and 11 seconds to accept their opportunity for participation.
  • The participant must personally place the phone call, proxy will not be accepted and any misrepresentation will violate the participant’s eligibility.
  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd is not responsible for ANY circumstance that prevents said participant from phoning Coast 101.1.
  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd will allow a direct proxy (sitting with the participant) for a person that is unable to participate verbally over the phone due to a physical impediment.
  • Should a participant not call within the specified window, they will be returned to the random selection process and remain eligible for future Coast Payroll contest plays.
  • On fulfilling the eligibility requirements, the Coast Payroll participant becomes an “employee” and wins the specified prize.
 

Prizes

  • The Coast Payroll awards a cash prize to participants that become employees.
  • An amount of $101.00 is awarded for each contest play period during the contest play window that the employee remains on the Coast Payroll.
  • Said Coast Employee will remain on the Coast Payroll and be eligible to collect further $101.00 prizes until a new participant that meets the eligibility requirements contacts Coast 101.1 to become a new employee.  Only one employee is hired at any given time.
  • Eligible hours are from 9am – 5pm Monday-Friday and may or may not exclude holidays.  The Coast employee does NOT earn a continuous cash prize for remaining on the payroll through evening, overnight and weekend hours.
  • All prize amounts are issued by cheque in the participant’s name (or name of a legal guardian in the case of a minor).  The prize will first be available the following Wednesday after the contest win on a designated "Coast Payday" and must be claimed within 30 days of the contest win.
  • All prizes must be claimed in person at the offices of Coast 101.1 with proper identification to confirm contest eligibility.  Upon confirmation of eligibility, the cheque will be presented to the Coast Payroll winner.
  • Coast Payroll winners unable to confirm they have met the eligibility requirements when claiming a prize and are then deemed ineligible will not receive a Coast Payroll prize.

Other Items

Coast Payroll participants agree to the following:

  • An understanding that they are participating in a radio contest which will involve their verbal responses broadcast over public airwaves
  • Their name, general area of residence, voice (recorded or live), and likeness may be used by Coast Broadcasting Ltd and Coast Payroll Sponsors in promotional material surrounding the contest
  • References to “being hired” and being a “Coast Employee” are for promotional cosmetic purposes.  Participants are not hired in a traditional sense; no employment deduction is made from the prize amount, nor is any long term traditional employment to be implied from the promotional cosmetics.  Prizes are awarded as a contest win.
  • All prizes are to be accepted as awarded and are not transferable without the express permission of Coast Broadcasting Ltd and/or Coast Payroll Sponsors.
  • Coast Broadcasting Ltd is not responsible for technical errors during the execution of the Coast Payroll Contest
  • In the highly unlikely event of a technical interruption of the Coast 101.1 broadcast signal during the contest window, the Coast Payroll Contest will be suspended until resumption of the signal.
  • Any restitution due to a technical error is at the sole discretion of Coast Broadcasting Ltd and Coast Payroll Sponsors
